PRESS RELEASE

Book with The Cruise People and take advantage of a Sept 07 Euro exchange rate

With the value of the Euro soaring against the Pound wouldn’t it be great if we could pick a time over the last nine months when the Euro exchange rate was in our favour. Well, The Cruise People have gone back to September 2007 and done just that! As a result they are offering a 15% saving on the published Euro fares for two expedition cruises to Australia and New Zealand – and in four-star comfort onboard the expedition cruise ship MS Bremen. Good news for the single travellers too as there is no supplement for single cabins on the New Zealand voyage.

Expedition Southwest Australia from Bali to Hobart – November 2008

The Cruise People is offering a saving of 15% (around £1000 per person) on the published Euro fares for a 21-day cruise visiting many of the premier ports along the southwest coast of Australia on board the 4* expedition ship MS Bremen. Guests will just need to get themselves to/from Frankfurt for the long-haul flights.

On the itinerary for this 21-day cruise sailing from Bali to Hobart are Komodo dragons, the world heritage site at Monkey Mia for bottlenose dolphins, Kangaroo Island with Australia’s largest seal colony, bizarre rock formations at Finders Chase National Park and visits to Freemantle, Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne.

Dates (Frankfurt/Frankfurt) 13 November – 7 December 2008

Prices from £6566pp sharing a twin cabin (outside) with private bathroom. This price represents a saving of £1000 per person on the published Euro rate; higher category cabins offer additional savings. There is a Euro150 per person on board credit for drinks and no single surcharge if guests also book the New Zealand voyage that follows, sailing from Hobart to Lyttelton.

The fare includes international flights Frankfurt/Bali and Hobart/Frankfurt; transfers to/from the airport and ship; the voyage from Bali (Indonesia) to Hobart (Tasmania) with accommodation as booked; all meals on board and port taxes. Optional shore excursions are available.

Expedition New Zealand from Hobart to Lyttelton – December 2008

The Cruise People is offering a 15% saving (around £800 per person) on the published Euro fares for a 16-day expedition cruise around New Zealand, sailing from Hobart to Lyttelton in 4* comfort onboard MS Bremen. There is no single supplement on this departure and, with a Euro150 per person on board credit for drinks this voyage represents great value with fares from £5345 per person. Guests will just need to get themselves to/from Frankfurt for the long-haul flights.

The itinerary has unlimited opportunities for those explorers with a spirit of adventure, who also prefer to travel in comfort! From the snow covered mountains, breathtaking glaciers and deep fjords of New Zealand’s South Island to the active volcanoes, extinct craters and hot springs on the North Island. This voyage will be of interest to active hikers and kayakers, natural history enthusiasts and birdwatchers, architectural aficionados and connoisseurs of fine wines; with a day in Auckland – nicknamed ‘City of Sails’ - for the city lovers.

In Wellington, the threatened existence of the kakapo will be highlighted by the director of the parrot’s protection programme; Karori Wildlife Sanctuary will delight with calls of kiwi, kea and weak; Rotorua has rising sulphur steams, geysers and bubbling mud pools; there’s wine tasting at Mills Reef vineyard and a chance to discover art deco in Napier.

The volcanic Chatham Islands provide refuge for many bird species such as the Chatham Island black robin and the endangered taiko, whilst yellow-eyed penguins are found on South Island’s Otago Peninsula and with luck rare royal albatross too.
