Compagnie du Ponant  (L'AUSTRAL, LE BOREAL and LE SOLEALwere built to operate in both polar and tropical environments, as is LE LYRIAL, now building in Italy. LE SOLEAL joined the small number of passenger ships to have traversed Canada's Northwest Passage when she did so in 2013).  

Hapag-Lloyd Cruises  (The HANSEATIC is the world's top-rated expedition ship and together with fleetmate BREMEN they have both crossed the Northwest Passage. Also sailings to Antarctica, in the South Pacific and Alaska, among other areas).  

Heritage Expeditions (New Zealand-based Heritage offers one of the last opportunities to travel in an expedition ship carrying only 50 passengers, the SPIRIT OF ENDERBY, to the Ross Seas, the sub-Antarctic islands in the seas around New Zealand and in the Russian Far East).
